This project uses the well as a visual metaphor to explore the paradoxical relationship between humanity and nature. The well, as a source of life, provides water, reflects the image of the natural world, and carries symbolic meanings of prayer and reverence. Yet when the water’s surface no longer mirrors nature itself but instead becomes a projection of human desire, the true dynamic between the two is revealed: humanity continues to intrude upon, dominate, and exploit, while nature remains voiceless—quietly regenerating, only to be damaged again and again. Beneath the appearance of worship lies a subtle justification for our ongoing violation and appropriation of nature.
